I applied Exposure Compensation which turned out to be -1.5. The highlights showed the same symptoms as they did in NX2. I took the same image into PS CC ACR and applied the same principle (Camera Profile - Camera Neutral). I could then use Shadow Protection, Contrast etc to get a usable image while retrieving and maintaining detail which was apparently lost in the yellow of the flower. By going into Double Threshold (Red Channel) and adjusting Exposure Compensation to the point where the Highlights disappear I got a figure of -1.46 EC. In NX2 the histogram showed the same symptoms as Jim's Bird (Picture Control - Neutral). I chose one of my (D700) images of a yellow flower and took it first into NX2 and then into PS CC ACR. You probably noticed that I put the word BLOWN in inverted commas? This was intended to indicate that the yellow in my flower images had a much higher red content than either Green or Blue components, bordering on blown. If you now bring your yellow bird into LR and apply your preset you should have a better starting point for this type of image If I have given the instructions correctly what you should see is that the image in LR after changes should look like the image viewed in FRV or RD as what you have done is taken away most of the settings that Adobe applied to brighten the image including the Baseline Exposure calculation applied at import. Goto Presets in Left Panel and click on "+" and save with a memorable name "Jims D7200" Now subtract -0.35 from Exposure of -1 i.e. You should now have a similar look regarding density and contrast to FRVĬustom Curve will be calculated automatically.ħ. Set Black Point, Contrast and brightness all to ="0" LR Camera Calibration tab Select Process Version 2010Ĥ. Open a D7200 image in LR or ACR and also a copy in FastRaw Viewer (as reference)Ģ. If you are up for a small experiment (and for my information) would you like to try the following?:ġ. I believe what you are looking at is the effect of Adobe's standard processing which is fine in most cases but can occasionally fail with certain subject matter, exposure and colour. ![]() I believe you shoot in raw therefore it is not really relevant to look at the camera histogram as if you do find a blown channel it is only applicable to the JPEG and quite possible that you have not over exposed at all for raw. ![]() If there is no clipping in either FastRaw Viewer or Rawdigger then it is neither camera or LR (well.).
